How it works…
Ideally, I require 1-2 sittings with the subject in order to get a sense of their personality and presence, to sketch them from life, and to photograph them. It’s best to do this where the sitter feels at ease. Then we have a look through the sketches and photographs, choosing the composition and concept that best represents them. I’ll then finish the work in my studio, only arranging additional sittings if necessary.
As far as schedule allows, I am happy to travel throughout Ireland and abroad.
The timeline of each project is unique depending on the work required. If you have a strict deadline, it’s best to contact me as far in advance as possible and I will work towards meeting it.
Of course, the sitter may not have time to model or I may not be able to travel to you, in that case, I will consider working from photographs provided, as long as they are of a high enough quality.
Portraiture and bespoke art commissions in oil paint begin at € 800, 30x20cm (12x8in).
Payments are made in thirds: 1/3 on the commission agreement , 1/3 on sketch, and 1/3 on the completion of the painting.
A wood frame is included in the cost, however, it does not include travel expenses or shipping.
